As someone who plans events throughout the city every year, it’s always a relief working with a venue and team that truly make things easy. Highly recommend.

At The Lawns, the setting changes with the event. Gather beneath the historic arches and towering 88-foot Norfolk pine of North Promenade. Surround guests with fountains, illuminated palms, gardens, and the commemorative brickwork of Central Promenade. Move south to a sweeping greenbelt framed by Spanish Revival architecture and a grand fountain or go bigger at Ingram Plaza, where expansive lawns gather beneath a towering American flag.
Together, these spaces give planners something rare in San Diego: the freedom to choose an outdoor setting around the event instead of forcing the event into a single venue. From an elegant open-air reception to a corporate activation, concert, festival, or gathering for thousands, the Snake Oil team can help match the scale, layout, and atmosphere to the experience you’re creating.
FROM OUR GUESTS
Follow Us Where Good Times Get Shared
The Lawns brings several of Liberty Station’s signature outdoor event spaces together under one experience: North Promenade, Central Promenade, South Promenade, and Ingram Plaza. Each offers a different setting, scale, and atmosphere, so you can start with the event you want to create and let the Snake Oil team help you find the space that fits it best.
It depends on what you’re planning. North Promenade offers a sweeping greenbelt framed by historic architecture and an 88-foot Norfolk pine. Central Promenade brings together paved plazas, fountains, palms, and gardens. South Promenade offers an expansive lawn near CHAPEL, while Ingram Plaza provides the greatest scale for concerts, festivals, military functions, corporate events, and other major gatherings.
Capacity depends on the space, layout, production footprint, and permitting requirements. Current Liberty Station listings range from more than 1,500 guests at Central Promenade to more than 2,000 at the North and South Promenades and up to 3,000 at Ingram Plaza. The venue team will confirm the appropriate maximum once your event plan and preferred location are established.
Depending on availability and your event plan, select outdoor spaces can create a natural complement to Snake Oil’s indoor Liberty Station venues. Central Promenade is located near VESPER, while South Promenade is near CHAPEL, creating opportunities to move guests between indoor and outdoor experiences.
Beverage service is available through Snake Oil Cocktail Company, with options that can be designed around everything from an intimate outdoor reception to a large-scale festival or corporate event.
Vendor and production requirements vary depending on the lawn and the complexity of your event. The Snake Oil team can walk you through catering, rentals, staging, AV, tenting, and other vendor requirements once your space and event plan are identified.
Yes! Liberty Station has parking throughout the campus. General visitors may self-park at no charge for up to three hours while patronizing Liberty Station businesses, while preferred event parking can be arranged based on your guest count. Your event coordinator can help determine the best parking plan for your event.
The Lawns are true outdoor event spaces, so production needs vary by location. Some areas have limited built-in power and may require outside production support and portable restrooms. Once you select a lawn, the event team can identify exactly what infrastructure and rentals your event will require. The current internal planning notes specifically identify minimal power and portable-restroom needs for several of the outdoor spaces.
Yes! Outdoor events are subject to location-specific event hours and amplified-sound requirements. Current planning information notes a 10 p.m. amplified-sound cutoff for several of the lawn spaces, but your event coordinator should confirm the exact requirements for your selected location and date.
Requirements for tents, staging, vehicles, ground installations, and other large production elements vary by lawn and must be reviewed as part of the event plan. The venue team can help determine what’s possible in the space you’re considering.
Neighborhood:
Liberty Station Arts District, Point Loma
The Lawns are woven throughout Liberty Station in Point Loma, the former Naval Training Center that today brings together historic architecture, the Arts District, restaurants, galleries, broad pedestrian promenades, and neighboring waterfront park space. Instead of arriving at a standalone event venue, your guests arrive somewhere they can actually explore—and once the event begins, those historic arches, gardens, fountains, lawns, and open San Diego skies become part of the experience.
